🦉 Issue #15: AI doesn't care if you like AI and the Zon goes all in!

🦉 Creative AI Digest - Issue #15

This is your favorite weekly newsletter about the intersection of AI and creativity. Only Creative AI Digest brings you a humorous and wise perspective from an artist who is thrilled social media didn't exist when he wore parachute pants.

The content for this week’s issue hits upon some major trends in the AI world. I know that you want to know how to use AI in your creative business, and I’ll continue to deliver. But I think it’s important sometimes to zoom out and look at where things are headed.

Apologies if you’ve recently replied to any of the emails coming from Creative AI Digest and haven’t gotten a response. Since “You’ve Got Mail,” I decided to answer every email sent to me, and with the exception of hate or spam, I’ve done that. I had a forwarding rule on [email protected] that Google wouldn’t deliver. I think I have that fixed.

Not gonna lie. I had the same hairstyle as Meg in 1993.

I’m a bit of a podcast junkie and my family is tired of me telling them they have to listen to “just this one episode.” But you have to listen to just this one episode. Starting at around 40 minutes, Brian Roemmele shares his perspective on AI with James Altucher, and it honestly rocked my world.

✨ Personal Update

I should be getting an IMDB profile! This week, a production company is coming to Cleveland to interview me for a documentary film about creativity and AI. More on that when I can share…

💼 Business Unplugged: How Gen AI is Rewiring the Corporate World

Summary

Generative AI's explosion onto the scene in 2023 has got everyone talking. Less than a year since these tools hit the market, organizations are already weaving them into their daily business functions. The tangible effects of this generative AI explosion are felt across industries. It's not just about flashy new gadgets; it's about real-world solutions that are making a difference. The impact is practical and straightforward, yet profound. Whether it's enhancing creativity or driving efficiency, the outcomes are reshaping how we live and work.

My Take

We're riding the crest of a wave, and this wave is all about AI. Sure, some might call it hype, but let's be clear: AI is not a bubble; it's a tidal wave that's reshaping the landscape. Companies and industries ignoring this phenomenon will be left on the shore, watching the competition surf to success. But it's not all sunshine and surfboards. The disruptions caused by AI are real, affecting real people. The workforce is in for a shake-up, and these effects should not be underestimated. It's a thrilling, yet gritty reality.

🧠 Amazon's AI Expansion: Rocking the Cloud with Bedrock!

Summary

At the AWS Summit in New York, Amazon laid out their ambitious plans to be the go-to cloud provider for generative AI. Some hail Amazon's initiative as a beacon of innovation, while others might see it as a giant trying to monopolize the playground. The choices made by Amazon in its pursuit of AI supremacy could redefine the tech landscape. The outcomes? The expansion might solidify Amazon's place in the industry or send rivals scrambling for cover. Either way, the impact is tangible, and the future of generative AI has Amazon's name written all over it.

My Take

Amazon's stance on generative AI isn't just a flirtation; it's an all-in commitment. They're eyeing the future and seeing generative AI not merely as a technological marvel but as a game-changer poised to transform every industry and sector. This isn't just a strategy; it's a declaration. The notion that they might restrict content on their platform utilizing generative AI seems unlikely.

🚀 Bridging Millennia: AI's Philosophical Journey from Socrates to Siri

Summary

In the digital age, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not just a nifty gadget but a cognitive partner, a philosophical compatriot linking ancient wisdom to modern tech. AI has become our cognitive advantage. It explores the interfaces of technology and human thought, and how they intertwine to shape our actions and destinies. The potential outcomes range from groundbreaking scientific discoveries to potential ethical quandaries. We might see AI therapists helping us sort through our emotional baggage, or AI pets that won't chew up your favorite slippers. But don't expect AI to take out the trash; that’s what your kids are for.

My Take

AI is no longer just a technological tool; it's a reflection of our thoughts and an extension of our cognitive abilities. It's like having a virtual sidekick, helping us manifest our ideas and redefine what it means to think. But as we teach AI to think, we must also impart what it means to be a kind human. We're not just programming machines; we're shaping a new cognitive era. It's not just about smart machines; it's about wise machines.

📝 Embrace the Pen: How to Outwrite ChatGPT and Create Your Legacy

Summary

You can't outperform ChatGPT in merely acceptable text, but you can certainly outshine it by applying the right psychology. It's like a secret sauce, a blend of creativity, human touch, and a dash of ingenuity. It's about embracing the challenge, not shying away from it. You're not just a writer; you're an artist, a creator, a visionary. You're equipped to produce writing that resonates, connects, and inspires.

My Take

Excellent writers will indeed outshine mediocre ones, even with the presence of advanced chatbots. The bar has certainly been raised, but that's not something to fear; rather, it's a challenge to embrace. The key takeaway here is a call to be efficient and simple in writing, avoiding the trap of trying to impress rather than express. And not to wear clothes that look like couch cushions (callback to the photo from 1993 - wanted to see if you’re paying attention). This insight has never been more vital in our fast-paced, technology-driven world. It's a reminder that the essence of writing isn't about complexity or showmanship, but about clarity, authenticity, and connection.
